I’ve always wondered ever since I completed 3rd level of Reiki (master symbol) why people usually end up complicating such a holistic practice. I have seen people making huge promises like it will open up your 3rd eye in level 1 itself. First of all, when I was pursuing the 1st level of Reiki and got attunement, I was informed that it is a universal life force energy which increases the vital force in the body. I practiced it for 21 days under the guidance of my master and I felt lightness in my body, that’s it. Today I am a Reiki Master and the way market is portraying things are usually not the way it is.

I must point out that there is a preponderance of people who claim to be “Reiki masters” in less than 5 days by taking an online Reiki course. Quite how they claim to get attuned is still beyond me.

Reiki was rediscovered by Mikao Usui who was the first lineage to pass the attunement of reiki to others. So whatever we are practicing today as traditional reiki discipline is given by him and his disciples. People who all are practicing some other principles other than the traditional ones are not true Reiki practitioners.

Four things you have to keep in mind before choosing a master…

Even though It is said that Reiki chooses the channel by itself, it is still advised that one should steer clear of imposters, fraudulent and fake masters. Here are Four things about Reiki that one should keep in mind when they look for Reiki Masters :-

1. Reiki never transfers karmas of others.

If your master says that reiki transfers karmas of others into you then it’s a complete joke. Don’t buy it. Reiki is a life force energy. The reiki practitioner is just a channel for the source. Life force energy never harms anybody but actually resolves all the karmas.

2. Traditional Reiki is the only reiki. There are no types to it.

Many of you might have come across people who advertise about Power reiki or Anand Reiki or Karuna reiki or prana Reiki or others. The fact is that they have nothing to do with discipline of reiki. So one must not to waste time in it.

3. Reiki master is always in high vibrations.

If the reiki master talks a lot about his accomplishments or claims miracles through reiki please avoid them. Choose a simple person who is vibrant. Just by sensing his presence you will know he is the one.

4. Reiki level 1, 2, master and grand master certificate course cannot be completed in 5 days!!

Yes you cannot do it in 5 days. Each level has its level of adjustment with the physical body.

Choose a wise master who promotes long gap between the two levels or at least 21days.
